Paleoclimate in northeast Mexico

CIMA: Climate Investigations with Mexican Archives

My main thesis research uses stalagmites from northeast Mexico. I am focusing on changes in rainfall during the late Holocene (past 2,000 years) using multiple geochemical proxies, as well as creating age models for several other stalagmites. This project is a huge collaborative effort, so for more info, please check out our website (Spanish translation available at the bottom).

I am excited to be working with two MIT undergraduate researchers, Gabriela Cazares ’20 and Sarah Weidman ’21, on this research.
